Breaking Friday: Shooting Outside Empire State Building

There are reports of multiple people shot outside the Empire State Building.

FOX 5 News has learned that at least three people have been shot.

The scene is chaotic as people make their way to work in the heavily trafficked area.

One person is in police custody.

Hometown favorite Willie Nelson hospitalized in Colorado
A Denver television station reported Sunday night that hometown hero Willie Nelson has been hospitalized.

Nelson was scheduled to perform Saturday at a benefit concert in Castle Pines Village, Colorado. KUSA-TV reported that concert organizers said they were told that Nelson was hospitalized after experiencing trouble breathing "due to the high altitude and emphysema".

Nelson was scheduled to perform in Austin Saturday night.

Fatal shooting in College Station near A&M campus
A fatal shooting took place early Monday afternoon just south of the Texas A&M University campus in College Station that claimed the life of a Brazos County constable, a civilian, and the suspect.

Brazos County Precinct 1 Constable Brian Bachmann, age 41, died while serving a warrant to the suspect's residence. An unidentified male civilian was fatally shot as well, and an unidentified female civilian as well as a College Station police officer were shot and two other officers sustained unidentified injuries.

Confirmed details are sketchy, but Texas A&M issued a "Code Maroon" alert around 12:30pm asking the univeristy community to avoid the area near Wellborn Rd & George Bush Drive. A second alert sent at 12:45pm said that police had a suspect in custody but still asked individuals to avoid the area.

Round Rock Police have been made aware of a telephone scam wherein the caller advised there were outstanding warrants out of Round Rock the victim needed to pay or they would be arrested. The caller said there would be a discount if payment was made immediately over the phone using a credit card.
 
The victim’s caller ID listed 218-5500 – which is the main phone number for the Round Rock Police Department. The caller had a very strong Middle East accent.
 
Round Rock police remind the public to never give their credit card information over the phone to anyone.
