APD Alert: Uptick in Crime - Rolling Hills area

Vehicle Burglaries - Rolling Hills West Subdivision
Sometime between December 20th and 28th, 2012 at least 7 vehicles were broken into in the Rolling Hills West subdivision. The area is in Travis County, surrounded by the City of Austin and Westlake.
All of the victim vehicles were left unlocked. Most of the property stolen was hidden within the vehicles; while other property stolen was in plain view.
There is video footage of the suspects. Suspects parked in front of houses and walked through the neighborhood on foot. The suspects are seen taking their time, looking into vehicles.
It is imperative that residents remove valuables, lock vehicles and park them in well-lit areas or garages if possible.  Someone walking on the street and going into driveways to look into cars late at night is suspicious. Please do not make it easy for the criminals.  Continue to be vigilant about reporting any suspicious vehicles, suspicious activity, or suspicious persons immediately by calling 911.
