APD seeking public's assistance in ID'ing culprit

Date:  Friday, April 12, 2013
Time: Between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm
Location: North Austin area along North Lamar Blvd.
APD Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect that attempted to sexually assault two women in the North Austin area along N. Lamar Blvd. Both incidents occurred between Rundberg Ln. and Braker Ln. on Friday, April 12, 2013.
Both female victims were in public areas with their small children when the attacks occurred. The victims were able to fight off the suspect. The suspect fled the scene on foot. As a safety measure, female residents in this area should be aware of their surroundings, engage in outdoor activities and exercise with partners, family, or friends, and to call 911 if they see any suspicious activity, suspicious persons, or anyone fitting the suspect description below.
The suspect is described as:
  • Hispanic male
  • Estimated to be in his early 20’s
  • 5’4” to 5’07”
  • Thin build
  • Short black hair, one pierced ear
  • He was last seen wearing a light colored shirt and jeans with paint stains
