In a surprising move, Cedar Park defensive coordinator Joe Willis inherits the head coaching reigns. Chris Ross, who has led the Timberwolves to its most succesful era, becomes Leander Independent School District athletic director.
Willis is the creator of the feared "Black Rain Defense". It has spawned several Division I players in recent past (Chet Moss at UT, Zac Espinosa at Rice). The fans have expressed that this makes this transistion much smoother. Since Cedar Park has not officially posted the job as open, Willis' status is "interim'.
