While Round Rock and Stony Point ramp up Spring drills this week, others are choosing to wait for August.
Because teams like the Dragons and Tigers are starting camp early, they are restricted to UIL rules concerning August drills. Meanwhile, Georegetown East View High has emerged as a school that will forgo a heavy April/May schedule in favor of an early August start.
Head coach Robert Davies in anxious to start action, but feels an earlier Fall camp will benefit his team. After 3 years of defensive coordinator duties at South Grand Prarie, he'll lead the Patriots in their first Varsity venture.
