Austin Police are investigating an accident that killed a pedestrian on Parmer Lane Monday night.
The accident happened near Lamplight Village around 7pm, when a man in his 20s jumped into the westbound lanes of Parmer.
The driver of a Nissan Xterra wasn't able to stop in time and ran into the man; the driver tried to help the man but he was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police said the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk, which was 30 to 40 yards away.
