Sometime during the night of December 26, 2012 at least 5 vehicles were broken into in the Chimney Hill and Colonial Place subdivisions. The area is North of, and near, the intersection of Springdale Road and Hwy 290 east.
Some of the victim vehicles were left unlocked and the ones that were locked had a window broken out to gain access. All the vehicles had property visible inside which caused the suspect to gain entry to take it.
One of the victims provided a video showing a person wearing a black coat with the hood over their head, a white t-shirt and blue jeans. The suspect is seen taking their time, looking into vehicles with a flashlight for things to take.
Please remember to not only lock your vehicles but to remove any visible property. Someone walking on the street and going into driveways to look into cars with a flashlight late at night is suspicious. If you see anything or anyone suspicious call 911 to report it as it is happening and your local law enforcement agency will check it out. Neighbors watching out for neighbors works as a crime deterrent.
